The light came through the window

האור חדר מבעד לחלון

Straight from the sun above

ישר מהשמש שלמעלה

And so inside my little room

There plunged the rays of love

Love went on and on

האהבה המשיכה ונמשכה

Until it reached an open door –

עד שהגיעה אל דלת פתוחה,

Then love itself

ואז האהבה עצמה

Love itself was gone

האהבה עצמה נעלמה

All busy in the sunlight

כולם עסוקים באור השמש

The flecks did float and dance

הגרגרים ריחפו ורקדו

And I was tumbled up with them

ואני התגלגלתי איתם

In formless circumstance

בנסיבות חסרות צורה

I'll try to say a little more

אנסה לומר עוד מעט

Love went on and on

האהבה המשיכה ונמשכה

Until it reached an open door –

עד שהגיעה אל דלת פתוחה,

Then love itself

ואז האהבה עצמה

Love itself was gone

האהבה עצמה נעלמה

Then I came back from where I'd been

אז חזרתי מהמקום שבו הייתי

My room, it looked the same –

חדרי נראה אותו דבר,

But there was nothing left between
